Tasty Tuesday @ Whoopie Pie Place – Dump Cake & Our Trip Down South

This week’s recipe is another dessert from Easter Sunday.  A very easy cake to fix – just dump in the ingredients, cover cake with butter pats, and bake.  No mixing bowls to clean, no mixer to use, just a cake mix box and a couple cans to dispose of.  The only way to get an easier cake would be to buy one at a bakery.  🙂

Tasty Tuesday ~ Dump Cake

This past week, we spent time down south on a mini vacation.  Our main goal for going there was for the Masters Practice Rounds on Tuesday, so we went down on Saturday and came home on Wednesday.  It was a fun trip with nice weather – much nicer than here at home at that time.  Dad and I have enjoyed this trip two other times, and Mom & Danny got to see the course for the first time.  It’s a beautiful golf course and the TV doesn’t do it justice.  The beautiful blooming trees and flowers, the very green grass, being close to the golfers…it’s a great experience.  It’s a lot of walking though, and Mom & Dad were quite tuckered at the end of the day.

One of my bigger highlights of this trip was seeing two friends that I hadn’t seen in a while.  Loretta lives in Lexington, SC, so we met her for dinner Saturday night at the Flight Deck Restaurant in Lexington (highly recommend going if you are in the area) and then she fixed us a delicious dinner on Monday night.  The banana pudding was so yummy!  My hubby took quite the liking to her dog, Sonny.

I met Loretta on Facebook on the WPBC site.  Because of her, Mom and I stay frequently at Homestead Lodging where Loretta normally stays when she visits Amish Country.  Thanks for our SC gift bag of goodies.  What a nice selection of items from your home state.  Hoping she can visit Amish Country this year, so we can hang out during her visit.

My other friend, Tracy, used to live in Fort Meade, MD, and we would stamp together and visit Amish Country.  She and her family moved to Alaska and now have been in Georgia for 3 years, so it’s been quite a while since I’ve seen her.  She lives just outside Augusta, GA, so we met at California Dreaming on Sunday night for dinner.  It was so good to see her and catch up.  The poor waiter I think came back at least three times to take our orders, and we had yet to open up the menus, because we were chatting up a storm.  What a wonderful visit with her.  And thanks so much for the baskets of GA goodies you gave me and Mom.  Everything made it home in one piece – yay!

Now that I’m home, I have caught a cold due to the weather here in MD celebrating all four seasons in a week’s time.  The weather has been truly wonky.  It’s now warming up, and I hope it stays that way now until fall.

Have a great week…
