A Belated Blog Contest

As the norm lately for me, I didn’t get a chance to post my Christmas blog contest, so I am posting it now.  Even though the books are technically Christmas stories, there is snow, and it is winter, so they will still be good reads for this very cold season.  Snow is in the forecast here for the weekend, so what better way to pass the time than curling up with a good book…

All you have to do to enter for your chance to win one of the prize packs is to leave a comment here on this blog post telling me what Amish community you have visited or would like to visit.  I would like to visit Pinecraft, FL at some point as well as Shipshewana, IN.  I’d love to see the ice sculptures there after Christmas.  I visit Lancaster County several times a years (too many to count), and I have been to Holmes County, OH twice.  Such a difference in both of these communities…

Prize Pack #1! A few of my favorite things…great books to read, a cookbook to keep your belly filled, and some yummy caramels.

Prize Pack #2 – yummy caramels and a great book…I think it would be fun to take a buggy ride in the snow and see God’s beauty all around.

Feel free to share this blog post with others, and if you do share it, leave me a comment here as well that you did, and I will enter you into the drawing twice.  That means you would have a chance to win both prize packs.  Now wouldn’t that be fun?

You have until Sunday evening to enter the drawings.

Good luck and stay warm!

Blessings…

  1. I have been to Shipshewana a couple times; I grew up in Indiana. I bought an Amish-made roll top desk directly from a family workshop/store in memory of my Mom who had passed away a short time earlier. It was something of a dream between the two of us.

  2. I love reading your books about the Amish. I haven’t visited an Amish community but would really enjoy doing that sometime soon. I would like to visit Pinecraft, Fl or any of the communities already mentioned.

  3. Being Australian, I think I would appreciate the opportunity to visit any Amish Community. I do often read about Lancaster County, so that would be high on my list.

  10. I once visited Lancaster County, it was many, many years ago. We lived in NY and it was an easy 2 or 3 hour drive. I left NY in 1979, so you can see, its been a long time ago. I haven’t been back to NY since, I haven’t gotten to Lancaster County either. I would love to visit any Amish community at this time in my life. I would also love to win. Thanks for the opportunity.

  11. Because my sister drove taxi for the Amish around Middlefield, OH, I have been to homes to pick blueberries, try out rocking chairs for sale, to their schoolhouse, and to Yoder’s Restaurant a few times. I’ve also been to Pinecraft, FL to meet Wanda Brunstetter.

  12. We love Lancaster County, PA and we try to visit there at least every two years (we live in NC.) We’ve been to Holmes County, OH twice, although I don’t think we did everything we wanted to do there. However, I would LOVE to visit Pinecraft, Florida – especially after I read the Amish fiction set there.

  17. My husband and I took an Amish couple to visit their families in PA and we ended visiting Puxatawney and seeing where the Groundhog predicts the weather each February. We have also driven to some small Amish communities in Southern Ohio but I have never visited any of the better known Amish areas. Thanks for this giveaway!

I would enjoy visiting the Amish in a state I haven’t been to Indiana or Florida to be exact. I look forward to reading more of your wonderful books. Thank you for the delightful giveaway opportunity ! I shared on twitter as well.
